Microblading is a tattooing technique in which a small handheld tool made of several tiny needles is used to add semi-permanent pigment to the skin. Microblading is perfect for those who have sparse brow hair and would like a very natural looking brow with individual hair strokes.
Microblading with Shading (Combo Brows)
The same microblading procedure takes place, however we add shading throughout the brow to add depth and definition. This can either be done by using a machine, which we use in ombré brows for a more powdered healed effect, or by using a manual technique for a softer shade.
Ombré Brows (Powder Brows)
Powder Ombré gives a light to dark ombré look; lighter at the front of the brow and progressing to a darker tail. It gives a softer powder makeup look that is still natural looking.
This is a preferred look for those that wear more makeup and would like a more dramatic look.
Microblading/Ombré Brows Touch up (6-8 weeks after initial appointment)
Only for previous clients of Beauty and the Blade.
The best way to ensure your brows last the full 12-18 months is to attend your 6-8 week touch up appointment. This will reinforce those hair strokes and is the perfect time to add any shading to the brows if your healed look isn’t quite as bold as you would like.
This is for clients who have had microblading done previously elsewhere and are in need of a correction or have old microblading and are in need of a refresher. Please send a photo of your current brows with no makeup on before booking. This is for none previous Beauty and the Blade clients.
Hair is removed in the early anagen (growing) stage at 1/8 inch or less in the natural direction of growth.
This can be done a few days after shaving!
Extraction in the growing stage allows the hair to stay void of the follicle for a longer period of time. Hair grows in finer and diminishes over a period of time. This allows for longer time between appointments, with less discomfort, less breakage and less irritation.
Our products are completely natural skin conscious with no ureas, parabens or petro ingredients. There are no chemical additives, no wax resins, no essential oils, which means our sugar pastes could be deliciously edible. Additives can cause adverse reactions for some individuals.
Henna brows are a form of eyebrow tinting that is used to stain the skin beneath the brow hairs. The purpose of this is to cast a shadow or create an illusion of depth and fullness in the area, visually filling in any sparseness.
Henna is a natural dye made from a plant known as hina or the henna tree. Henna has been around since ancient Egyptian times when it was used for many purposes such as dyeing hair, clothes, fabrics and as make up.
The process for henna brows is very similar to henna colouring methods you may see in traditional Indian culture, however the shades have been formulated to cater for eyebrow tones.
Using a medical grade scalpel, removing between 20/30 layers of dead skin cells, black heads, clogged pores and vellus hair (peach fuzz) are removed from the surface of the face.
Exfoliating the outermost layer of 'skin junk' yields a brighter, smoother looking complexion. This allows for procedures such as chemical peels and microneedling to increase in strength, as well as deeper penetration of skin care products.
